Taxidermy–Trend Alert

It was once just for hunters, but now taxidermy is showing up in the most classy of homes.

I dub this new trend “hillbilly hip.”

And, it’s not your typical deer head, instead it’s the more unusual of mounts that are making their way to the design stage.

Even if you are an animal lover, you have to appreciate the texture, the simplicity, and the natural wonder.

Taxidermy furniture.  I’ve already seen it in several magazines.

I can’t say LOVE loud enough!  Love, love, love.

Both practical and beautiful.  Such elegance.

How incredibly artistic.

If you are more of a fan of the classic mount, these are some of the top picks.

This is such a great display of friendship.  Dogs are not just man’s best friend, but apparently this one is ducks’ best friend, too.

This one is pricey, but it’s the unusual aspect that draws you in.

For a more whimsical touch.  This would be great in a family room.

To see the potential in this awesome trend, check this room out.  I’m already planning out my study.

For those of you who have read this far, congratulations! April Fool’s!

Most of the time I hate April 1st! I am just not into April Fools jokes but this was a good one! I kept thinking…to each his own! LOL!

  5. Ashly@Moon Walk

  6. I loved this. I am the world's worst at coming up with a good april fool's laugh so i just linked this post to my blog today. Thanks again!

  8. Peggy of Plush Nest

thank goodness it's April 1st, because those are CREEPY!

  9. I like the Rambo Squirrel because we are preparing to declare WAR on the new platoon of the little animals in our back yard. They are digging up freshly planted flowers, creating the illusion of small bomb craters all over the yard.
Does anyone know where I might find some tiny "squirrel size" land mines? I think is't time to bring out the live animal trap, before my wife has a stroke.

  10. Carol@TheDesignPages

Oh, that's hilarious. Those are some seriously strange stuffies.
