Another reader sent me photos of her chair. Emily at Crisp Interiors painted an orange chair white!
Here it is before and after.
Isn’t that a dramatic change?!
Emily said she followed the tutorial exactly. She describes the texture as painted canvas.
Thanks for sharing, Emily! Check it out on her blog. Let me know if you try it!
Note: At the bottom of the tutorial post, there are links to others who have tried this project. And, don’t forget to enter the vinyl wall decal giveaway!

Another success story! The white was a perfect choice!!
Oh my…this turned out beautiful! Nice job Emily!
So crisp…love it!
I think this is my favorite one so far. I LOVE that crisp, bright white.
This is unreal–I did this on 2 cane side chairs the other day, using paint over a bad decoupage. Grabbed paste wax, and was immediately happy with the distressed leather look, and finished with a gloss varnish. Tonight, I searched for 'paint your couch' as I had to see if my madness was validated, and lo and behold, there are others out there like me, and it's making me heady! As if I was on a planet, alone, and then found other life forms. Crazy…and THANK YOU for this. I see G Dub's comments here, and I KNOW he's totally normal! If you're wondering…just try this–you'll LOVE IT!
This is absolutely brilliant! I cannot wait to try this on two burgundy chairs that I have. I’m going to paint mine white. I found your tutorial via Pinterest and I am so happy that I did! Thank you!!!
