Color My World Challenge – For Me and You!

I have been invited to be a part of the Color My World Challenge (a blogging series) along with a group of very talented bloggers!  I’m so excited!

This series will be running for the next four Tuesdays. We’ll be using our new color in decor, paint, and fabric. The final week will be a wrap up and a blog hop where you can link up a post showing how YOU added a new color to your home too.

I was nervous at first to participate, having just moved a week ago.  I knew it may just be chaos and any actual decorating my fall by the wayside.  But, I’ve been working pretty hard to unpack so I could participate.  I’m one of those people who can’t think with clutter around/ who has trouble being creative with clutter around.  Are you?

The next dilemma was what COLOR?!  I knew my new color scheme for the main area of my new home which I’d want to work on first.  So, from that, I could go with talking about how I’m incorporating green.  But, I’ve already mentioned that on here.  How about navy?  Or, gold?  Or more neutral – I know counter-intuitive, but I always run to color.  Hmmm…  I changed my mind fifty time like most of the bloggers who are participating.  So much so that this post is going up later than it normally would…

So, NAVY it is!

How about some inspiration?!

Check it out with pink.

With gold and other neutrals?  Yum.

With this shade of green is nice.  I may have to rethink the shade of green I’m using!  What do you think?

I love the stripes (I want striped curtains) and even a bit of yellow mixed in!

How about this more subtle way of adding navy?

I love it paired with crisp white.  However, I definitely have other shades of neutrals in my space.  But, that can be a positive and add depth.

Stay tuned for exactly how I end up incorporating it over this series!

So, this is how it will go.

Using Navy in Decor – Tuesday, April 10th
Using Navy with Paint – Tuesday, April 17th
Using Navy with Fabric – Tuesday, April 24th
Show all three elements and say if you liked the color or not – Tuesday, May 1

And, on May 1st, YOU are invited to participate!  So, follow along and inject a new color into your home.  Then, put up a post and share photos at a link party on May 1st!   It will be my first link party, but if you aren’t familiar with them, you just share a link to your post basically, but it also lets you upload a photo – all on my blog.

Good luck! I’m looking forward to seeing how you incorporate a new color into your home!

  6. You know I love me some navy! You are so brave after only moving last week to do this! If anyone can, you can do it though! I find it hard to be creative with clutter, clutter and chaos makes me crazy, just ask my family. Or perhaps, don’t, they will tell you how crabby it makes me. Anyways, great inspiration pics and so glad you are in on the fun!

  7. Love the navy! I actually think navy is practically neutral it goes so well with almost every color. Can’t wait to see how you use it!

  8. I am loving you inspiration pics! I love navy with a fun bright color! Can’t wait to see what you do!

  9. I that hallway with the navy stripes! Can’t wait to see how you use it in your new home!

  10. This looks like such a fun challenge, incorporating color. I look forward to all the navy that you will bring in.

  11. I am really curious to see what you do with Navy! It is one of my very favorite colors. Our master bedroom has one navy wall, and I’ve been thinking of putting the same color on the rest of the walls, but was afraid it would be too dark. And I’m pretty sure we’d have to replace the furniture! Oh, my husband would just love that! Ha! And although the rest of my house’s walls are painted grey, I want to use Navy and ? for pops of color. I’m not sure what other color to use yet. Looking forward to what you do!
