Kitchen Lighting

Help me figure out what to get for the kitchen lighting.  Here are the choices.

1) Mercury Glass.  It’s large at 12 inches across.  Has a barn look, but is glass.

2) Shiny chrome and large at 13 inches across.  Our existing fixtures are 8 inches across.

3) Small spotlight style.

Or, something different all together?  I’m up for ideas!  Existing lights can be seen in the new house tour.

  1. Love the mercury glass!

  2. Is that your kitchen on the left? If so, choice #2 looks best in my opinion.

  3. I personally don’t like #1 b/c I don’t like that you can see the bulbs so much. We had some like that in our old house and we broke the bulbs numerous times on accident. My favorite is #2!

  4. I like option 2 the best. I love the Edison style bulbs in the first image but they’re expensive to replace.

    Good luck!

#2 gets my vote! All three are wonderful but #2 looks great!

  6. Just found your great blog! I vote for #2. I like #1 but seems like there is too much going on between the bulbs being prominent and your recessed lighting…..

  7. I love the chrome lights the best I think!

  8. choice 2!!! Can’t wait to see what you decide!

  9. I’m loving the shiny chrome. Gorgeous!

  10. I love the second one! Where can I buy one like it too!

  11. How about the mercury glass one? It is different. You need to in front of trends as a designer. It’s just different. Ann

  12. I’d say Option 2 or 3. I’m terrible at making decisions which is why I gave two answers.

  13. I think #1 is not the right style for your kitchen.#2 has been done to death.#3 too busy.Sorry.Keep looking.

  14. How about Landmark 66144-1 ?

    • I gave that one some thought, but I really need to break up the sea of brown and wanted some bling. So, I ordered #2! I know it has been done a lot, but in this case where I want to bring in some industrial, yet keep a classic feel, I think it’s the right choice.
